Missing Teen’s Body Found With Limbs Missing After Suspected Crocodile Attack In Sarawak

Date:

A 14-year-old boy who went missing after allegedly being attacked by a crocodile was found dead at Ulu Sungai Plaie, Sarawak, on Tuesday night.

The body of Mohd Nordin Mohd Othman was discovered by villagers at around 8pm, approximately 800 metres from the village jetty.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre, the discovery followed information from a Kampung Tuba resident who reportedly spotted a crocodile carrying something in its mouth while returning home after visiting the victim’s family.

The teenager’s grandfather, Dana anak Randi, subsequently identified the body through physical recognition, confirming that it was his grandson.

The department said the body was found with both hands and the left leg missing, along with bite marks on the back, genital area, abdomen and groin.

The victim also had several wounds on his body, eyebrows and face, as well as scratch marks.

His body was later handed over to the police and taken to Simunjan Hospital for further action.

Earlier reports said the teenager was believed to have been snatched by a crocodile while loading oil palm fruit into a boat at Sungai Plaie, Ulu Sebuyau, at around 5.30pm on Monday.

The incident was witnessed by his uncle, Midin Radin, who subsequently alerted the Sungai Plaie village head.
