Trump Wants to Thank IGP for Exemplary Security Management

Date:

US President Donald Trump has praised Malaysia’s security and enforcement agencies for their professionalism and efficiency, even requesting to personally meet Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail to convey his appreciation, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim revealed today.

Speaking at the launch of the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park 2, Anwar said Trump was particularly impressed by the smooth coordination and high level of professionalism shown by Malaysian security forces during recent high-profile visits — including those by Trump himself and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

“President Trump even requested permission to meet the Inspector-General of Police to personally express his appreciation for the outstanding professionalism of our security forces,” Anwar said in his speech.

He added that Malaysia’s successful management of these visits, which attracted global attention, reflected strong teamwork between multiple government agencies — including the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti), the Foreign Ministry, and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Anwar also shared that a major investment group from New York expressed renewed confidence in Malaysia following these visits, citing both the country’s robust infrastructure and the competence of its enforcement and coordination teams.

“This is the result of excellent collaboration across all agencies,” Anwar said.
