GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) chief executive officer Nasiruddin Mohd Ali and 21 others pleaded guilty today to an alternative charge of being members of GISBH, which has been declared an unlawful organisation.
The guilty pleas were recorded before High Court Judge Datuk Seri Latifah Mohd Tahar during proceedings held at the Kajang Prison Complex.
Those who pleaded guilty include Nasiruddin’s wife, Azura Md Yusof, 58, and Mohammad Adib At-Tamimi, 33, the son of former Al-Arqam founder Ashaari Muhammad. Other male accused are Mohd Shukri Mohd Noor, Muhammad Afdaluddin Latif, Mohamad Sayuti Omar, Mohd Fazil Md Jasin, Mohd Dhirar Fakhrur Razi, Mokhtar Tajuddin, Muhammad Fajrul Islam Khalid, Abu Ubaidah Ahmad Shukri, Shuhaimi Mohamed, Hasnan Abd Hamid, and Muhammad Zahid Azhar @ Nadzri.

The court is currently hearing mitigation pleas from the defence and submissions from the prosecution before delivering its sentence.
The accused were initially charged under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code for being members of an organised criminal group, an offence that carries between five and 20 years’ imprisonment upon conviction.
However, following representations to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), prosecutors offered an alternative charge under Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335) — for being members of an unlawful organisation.
If convicted, the offence carries a maximum sentence of three years’ imprisonment, a fine of up to RM5,000, or both.
The offences were allegedly committed at a premises in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang, between October 2020 and Sept 11, 2024.
The prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutors Shafiq Hasim, Mohammad Fakhrurrazi, Ahmad Salim, and Norinna Bahadun, while lawyer Datuk Rosli Kamaruddin represented all the accused. – Bernama
