An American mother, 43-year-old Robyn Polston, has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after allegedly fathering a child with her 14-year-old daughter’s school dance date. Polston was taken into custody by the Washington Police Department on 3 November and is being held without bail ahead of her arraignment on 4 December.
Court documents state she faces two counts of criminal sexual assault involving a minor and two counts of possession of child pornography. If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison for each charge.
Investigators allege Polston acted as a chaperone at the school dance in May 2023, where she met the teenager. DNA testing later confirmed that Polston and the boy are the biological parents of the child born in January 2024. Authorities also discovered sexually explicit images and videos involving Polston and the minor, allegedly exchanged via burner phones under false names to avoid detection.
Prosecutors claim Polston tried to persuade the teenager to hide evidence of their relationship. She remains in custody until her next court appearance.
