Singapore Actor Zheng Geping Receives Public Service Medal for 15 Years of Community Work

Date:

Veteran Singaporean actor Zheng Geping officially received the Public Service Medal 2025 (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat, PBM) at the National Day Investiture ceremony held on Sunday (Nov 16) at ITE College Central in Ang Mo Kio.

The 61-year-old, who first announced the honour in August, was recognised for his quiet contribution to the Woodlands community over the past 15 years.

Posting on Instagram, Zheng said he was “deeply humbled and honoured” to receive the award from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Despite not residing in Woodlands, he began volunteering in the constituency’s community group around 15 years ago after encouragement from a friend.

He expressed his gratitude to Grassroots Adviser Mariam Jaafar for the nomination and ongoing support, describing it as a privilege to serve alongside her and the Woodlands CCC team.

Zheng also thanked his family for their unwavering support, noting that his wife, fellow actress Hong Huifang, attended the ceremony to show her encouragement. He credited them for often stepping forward to volunteer alongside him.

He went on to congratulate his Woodlands CCC Chairman, “bro Milton Koh”, who was also conferred the Public Service Medal this year, calling him an inspiration.

“Thank you, everyone, for walking this journey with me. I will continue to serve our community with dedication and heart,” Zheng affirmed.
