An eight-year-old boy was injured after being attacked by a pack of around 20 stray dogs while riding an electric motorcycle in a residential community in Thailand.
The incident took place in Community 3, Khlong Soi Mon Mai, Khlong Phai Subdistrict, Sikhiu District, where CCTV footage later reviewed by reporters showed the sudden attack occurring at an intersection within the neighbourhood.
Local reports said the boy was travelling through the area when the group of stray dogs surrounded and attacked him, causing injuries that required immediate medical attention.
He was later taken to hospital for treatment, including rabies vaccination, while residents said the child remains traumatised and fearful of returning to the area.
Following the incident, Khlong Phai Subdistrict Municipality carried out inspections in nearby homes where dogs are kept, as authorities look for measures to prevent similar attacks in future.
Residents expressed concern over the growing stray dog population in the area, saying there have been repeated incidents of dogs chasing and biting people, raising fears for public safety.
They urged relevant authorities to take urgent and firm action, warning that continued inaction could lead to more serious incidents involving both children and adults.
Local officials are expected to review possible control measures as community pressure mounts for a long-term solution to the stray dog problem.
