A man suffered injuries after being rammed by a cow during a korban slaughter programme at Taman Kesedar Putra 1 on Wednesday.
The incident, which happened between 10.30am and 11am, left 29-year-old Fahmi Ibrahim injured on his right big toe, knee and right palm after he was violently tossed into the air by the animal.
According to Fahmi, he had just finished transferring meat from a previously slaughtered cow to a distribution tent moments before the chaos unfolded.
He said the sixth and final cow scheduled for slaughter suddenly became aggressive and broke free from control, causing panic among villagers and volunteers at the scene.
“The crowd immediately scattered in fear. Before I was hit, three other individuals were nearly attacked by the cow too, but they managed to escape in time,” he said.
Fahmi explained that he did not realise the animal was behind him before it suddenly charged and struck him, sending him flying through the air. The dramatic moment was later captured on video and quickly went viral on social media.
“At first, I was traumatised by what happened. But after thinking about it again, it actually became quite funny,” he said jokingly.
“Thankfully, I only suffered minor injuries to my right big toe, knee and right palm after being flung by the cow.”
Despite the terrifying ordeal, Fahmi said the incident has not discouraged him from continuing to participate in korban programmes with villagers in the future.
Earlier, videos of the shocking moment spread widely online, showing the man being launched into the air after being gored by the sacrificial cow while onlookers screamed and ran for safety before several individuals chased after the runaway animal.
