RM100 Left With Note After Minor Car Accident Goes Viral

Date:

A social media post has gone viral after a driver shared images of a damaged car alongside a handwritten apology note allegedly left by a young woman involved in a minor accident.

The post showed two photos, one displaying a vehicle with visible dents and scratches on its side, and another close-up image of a note slipped into the car door handle, attached together with a RM100 banknote.

In the handwritten message, the writer reportedly apologised for the incident and identified herself as an 18-year-old female driver with limited driving experience. She also stated that she only had RM100 with her at the time.

Part of the note, which was partially covered by the banknote, is believed to include her contact number, suggesting she left her details for follow-up communication.

The original vehicle owner expressed frustration in the post, saying the RM100 offered was insufficient to cover the extent of the damage caused to the car.

However, the post quickly drew mixed reactions online, with many netizens praising the alleged driver for taking responsibility and leaving her contact information instead of fleeing the scene.

Some commenters said the owner still has the option to reach out using the number provided, suggesting the situation could be resolved directly between both parties.

Others were more sceptical, questioning whether the age and story written in the note were genuine, with some suggesting it could have been fabricated to gain public sympathy.

The incident has since sparked wider discussion online about accountability in minor road accidents and how disputes should be handled between drivers.
