A woman has alleged that her former employer repeatedly demanded photographic proof while she was recovering in hospital after giving birth, including asking her to take selfies with her newborn baby to verify that she had been admitted.
According to her account, her husband had already sent the baby’s hospital identification card, which reportedly showed the mother’s name and the baby’s date of birth.
However, she claimed her employer was not satisfied and continued requesting additional evidence.
“My boss kept pressuring me to send a selfie with my baby. Then I was told to open my doctor’s file and take a picture to prove I had been admitted to the ward,” she said.
She questioned why her employer could not wait until she had been discharged before requesting further proof.
The woman said she later sent a photo of herself wearing the hospital’s pink polka-dot patient gown, but alleged her employer continued insisting on a selfie showing both her and the baby.
Contract Allegedly Not Renewed
The woman also claimed that her employment contract, which expired on Oct 30, was not renewed despite providing the requested evidence.
She had given birth to her first child just one day earlier, on Oct 29.
Describing the ordeal as one of the most difficult moments of her life, she said she was forced to deal with workplace pressure while recovering from childbirth.

Her story sparked widespread criticism online, with many social media users questioning why an employee who had just given birth was subjected to such scrutiny.
Some speculated that the employer may have been looking for a reason not to renew her contract.
One netizen commented, “How can someone like this become a boss? At this rate, if an employee dies, they might ask the employee to personally show their own death certificate.”
Another user shared a similar experience, claiming their employer once questioned the death of a family member and demanded photographic proof.
Many netizens said employers should show greater compassion towards employees, especially mothers recovering from childbirth, who need sufficient time to heal both physically and emotionally.
