A young woman has claimed she was left traumatised after a man allegedly forced a snake into her car while she was parked near the Stadthuys in Bandar Hilir, Melaka, on Monday night.
The 21-year-old sales assistant, Nik Hanis Allysa Abdullah, said the incident happened around 11pm when she, along with her sibling and a friend, stopped in the popular tourist area before being approached by a man carrying a snake.
She said the situation escalated when the man allegedly pushed the reptile into her vehicle through an open front window, despite repeated pleas for him to stop. Although she is not afraid of snakes, she described the act as dangerous and irresponsible.
Nik Hanis said she became overwhelmed with panic during the incident and exited the vehicle in fear, forgetting that her car was still in drive mode, causing it to roll forward while part of her body was still outside.
Her friend, who was filming nearby activities, was also startled and quickly got out of the car. The incident, she said, could have easily led to a more serious accident.
She later uploaded a 54-second video of the encounter online, saying she shared it to warn others and highlight the importance of safety in the busy tourist area.
Police confirmed that no report has been lodged so far, while the Historic Melaka City Council said it would investigate the matter.
The incident has sparked public outrage on social media, with many users criticising the man’s behaviour and calling for action to be taken.
