Global K-pop sensation BTS made headlines yesterday (August 4) after international media outlets reported that the group had recorded an unreleased song by the late pop icon Michael Jackson. The report originated from The Irish Sun, which quoted Paddy Dunning, owner of Ireland’s Grouse Lodge recording studio, confirming the session had taken place. The news quickly went viral and stirred excitement among fans worldwide.
According to the report, BTS had visited the Grouse Lodge studio to record a track for a special tribute album featuring previously unreleased Michael Jackson songs. The claim was further backed by a website dedicated to Jackson’s posthumous projects, which announced that BTS would be part of the upcoming tribute compilation.
However, in a surprising turn today, BTS’s agency, Big Hit Music, issued an official statement denying the report.
“BTS did not visit the Grouse Lodge recording studio in Ireland, nor did they participate in any recording sessions,” the statement read. “Reports suggesting BTS is involved in a tribute album featuring unreleased Michael Jackson tracks are not true.”
The agency also emphasized that it is actively working to prevent the spread of false information and rumors.
As of now, there is no confirmation that BTS has any involvement in the alleged Michael Jackson tribute project.
