Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodríguez, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
Ronaldo’s management team confirmed that the couple tied the knot on Tuesday, August 11, bringing their decade-long relationship to a new chapter.
The Portuguese footballer also appeared to hint at the wedding on Instagram by sharing a photo of two hands wearing wedding rings, with his hand placed over his partner’s.
Portuguese media described the occasion as one of the year’s biggest celebrity weddings, with reports saying the couple’s five children were also present for the ceremony.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez first met in 2016 at a Gucci shop in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working while Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid.
The couple announced their engagement on August 11 last year, with Rodríguez sharing a photograph of a large engagement ring on social media alongside a message expressing her love and commitment to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 41, remains one of football’s most decorated players, having won major honours with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. He is also a five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The football icon has scored close to 1,000 career goals and recently appeared at his sixth World Cup, a record number of appearances in the men’s tournament that he shares with Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.
