Girls’ Generation’s YoonA Shuts Down Rumors About Having “Center Syndrome”

Date:

Girls’ Generation’s YoonA has addressed lighthearted rumors about her supposedly having “Center Syndrome”—a term used to poke fun at idols who always want to be in the center during group appearances or performances.

The buzz was reignited after fellow member Tiffany Young jokingly remarked in a past YouTube video that “YoonA has a condition where she can’t live unless she’s at the center.” While clearly made in jest, the comment quickly caught fans’ attention online.

YoonA responded to the claim in a recent episode of “Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup,” uploaded on August 4 KST, where she appeared alongside actor Ahn Bo Hyun. During the show, co-host Jung Ho Cheol playfully asked her, “Are you okay with your seat? You’re not sitting in the center today.”

YoonA replied calmly, “I feel very comfortable.” Laughing off Tiffany’s earlier comment, she said, “There’s no such syndrome. When I saw what the unnies said, I just thought, ‘Oh, they’re just trying to be funny for the show.’” She then grinned and added, “Today, let’s just say this spot is the center.”

Host Shin Dong Yup joined in the playful banter, joking, “If it starts to feel like you’re dying, we can switch seats.”

Tiffany had already clarified the joke on her own appearance on the “Boogle Boogle” YouTube channel, stating that it was all in fun and that the actual member who insists on standing center is Sooyoung, who openly admits it.

While the humorous exchange sparked lighthearted media headlines, YoonA’s relaxed and witty response put the rumors to rest—proving that she’s perfectly happy no matter where she’s sitting.
