Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Lives Like a Broke Student Despite Owning Millions

Date:

Despite owning assets worth over RM3.6 billion, South Korean star Kim Jong-kook is famously frugal—reusing wet wipes, and hoarding cardboard boxes and plastic bags at home. But it turns out Super Junior’s Kyuhyun is just as thrifty. He recently revealed that he uses credit card points to redeem ice cream and didn’t turn on his air conditioner for an entire year.

Kim Jong-kook’s frugality is already well-known, but Kyuhyun has taken it a step further—his monthly credit card bill reportedly never exceeds RM7,500. In fact, in 2024, he claims he went the whole year without using the air conditioner. Instead, he used his card reward points to redeem 24 cups of ice cream, joking that he now eats one every day.

Kyuhyun’s money-saving habits shocked fans, with many teasing that he lives by a “free-only” lifestyle. But in reality, his financial status is more than comfortable. He recently sold his luxury home in Namsan-dong for around RM33 million. His frugality, he explained, comes from a lifelong habit of not spending money unnecessarily.
