A 17-year-old boy was stabbed during a street confrontation in Phuket after allegedly arranging to meet a 15-year-old over a jealousy dispute involving a girlfriend.
The incident occurred on May 7, 2026, along Trang Road, Soi 7 in Ratsada Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phuket. Police from Phuket City Police Station, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Naruephon Phrutinon, were alerted after the injured teenager was rushed to Vachira Phuket Hospital for emergency treatment.
Investigators said the victim, identified as Mr A (pseudonym), sustained a stab wound to his left rib area following a heated argument. Authorities confirmed he is currently receiving close medical care.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victim had arranged to meet Mr B (pseudonym), aged 15, to resolve a personal dispute linked to jealousy over a girlfriend. However, the situation escalated during the meeting, leading to violence in which the victim was stabbed before the suspect fled the scene.
Police later tracked down and arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. He has since been charged with attempted murder and will face further legal proceedings.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as concerns grow over rising youth-related violence stemming from personal disputes.
