Police are currently investigating a viral claim involving the death of a baby girl who is believed to have been thrown from the 10th floor of a People’s Housing Project (PPR) in the area.
Johor Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Khairin Nisa Ismail said the incident, which is believed to have occurred a few days ago, has sparked widespread public reaction.
She said the infant was believed to have been newly born as the umbilical cord was still attached, while the mother is reportedly in her 20s.
“The case is still under police investigation, and the public is urged to allow authorities to carry out their probe,” she said when contacted.
Meanwhile, Johor Bahru North District Police Headquarters confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
Based on circulating images and information, the baby was found lifeless at the parking area of the housing block.
