BMW Driver Arrested After Retired Soldier Killed In Crash

The driver of a BMW sedan has been arrested following a fatal road accident near Desa Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, which claimed the life of a retired soldier on Monday morning.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Zamzuri Isa said the crash occurred at about 8.30am along Jalan Kampung Pandan, when the victim was riding his motorcycle in the left lane heading from the Kampung Pandan roundabout towards Desa Pandan.

He said the BMW had turned into the road from a junction, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with the right side of the vehicle.

The 45-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe head and body injuries and was rushed to Kuala Lumpur Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Police said the 44-year-old driver was arrested the following day and tested negative for drugs and alcohol.

The case is being investigated under reckless driving causing death.
