Two individuals have sparked outrage among residents after they were caught on CCTV allegedly dumping bulky waste illegally in a village area.
Village head Safwan Shari said the incident involved a car that stopped near the village rubbish bins at around 5.59pm, with the individuals reportedly waiting nearly two minutes to ensure no one else was nearby.
Once the area appeared clear, they proceeded to remove a large mat from the vehicle and disposed of it into bins designated strictly for domestic waste such as food scraps.
“Once the line was clear, they quickly took out the mat. It took them almost two minutes to get it out,” he said in a social media post.
Safwan stressed that the bins provided at the location are meant exclusively for residents of Kampung Batu 14 Hulu Langat and are only for everyday household waste.
He pointed out that items such as mats fall under bulky waste and should not be disposed of in regular domestic bins.
“If everyone takes the easy way out like this, who is going to manage the waste? Dumping large items like mats or furniture is irresponsible and creates unnecessary burden for others,” he said.
He urged the public to be more responsible and disciplined when disposing of waste, and called on the individuals involved to come forward, explain their actions, and issue an apology.
