Couple Owe Three Months’ Rent, Then Arrogantly Argue With Landlord During Heated Confrontation

Date:

A couple who allegedly failed to pay rent for three months has sparked outrage online after confronting their landlord with a rude attitude when he personally showed up to collect the overdue payments.

The incident, which was captured on video and circulated widely on social media platform X, showed the landlord visiting the rental unit to demand the unpaid rent from the tenants.

At the beginning of the confrontation, the female tenant stepped forward to speak with the landlord while her husband remained inside the house.

When questioned about the overdue payments, the woman explained that her husband would only be able to settle the rent after receiving his salary next month.

However, the landlord pointed out that the rent had already been delayed for three months and questioned why the couple, who were both employed, still failed to pay on time.

The woman then reportedly became irritated and insisted they had no intention of avoiding payment, claiming they simply needed more time until her husband’s payday. She even accused the landlord of lacking sympathy.

The landlord responded by reminding the couple that paying rent on time was the most basic responsibility of being a tenant, warning that they would need to vacate the property if payment was not made soon.

Shockingly, the woman replied: “It’s only three months of unpaid rent, not five months.”

The heated exchange escalated further after the landlord raised his voice and declared: “This is my house!”

The tenant immediately fired back: “We are the ones renting this house!”

After nearly two minutes of arguing, the landlord realised the woman’s husband had been inside the house the entire time and questioned why he allowed his wife to handle the confrontation alone.

The husband eventually spoke up but only repeated that he would pay the outstanding rent after receiving his salary the following month.

Refusing to accept the excuse, the landlord gave the couple one final week to settle the debt and warned that he would lodge a police report if they failed to comply.

“I’m the one coming here to collect money, so I should be the angry one. Instead, I’m the one being scolded,” the landlord said.

However, the male tenant appeared unfazed and arrogantly replied: “Who is the one living in this house now?”

The viral video has since triggered heated reactions online, with many netizens criticising the couple’s behaviour and supporting the landlord’s decision to pursue legal action over the unpaid rent.
