Crocodile Snatches Man in Front of Family at Sarawak Riverbank

Date:

A 32-year-old man is feared to be the latest victim of a crocodile attack at Kampung Lubok Punggor in Simunjan yesterday evening.

The victim, identified as Ahmad Alzadkhri Sudin, was reportedly catching shrimps with his family along the Lubok Punggor riverbank when the reptile attacked at about 4pm.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), search teams from the Simunjan and Kota Samarahan fire stations were deployed to the scene.

“The search radius covered about 200 metres from the site to the village. Villagers had earlier tried to locate the victim but were unsuccessful. Our teams then gathered information from witnesses before starting operations,” Bomba said in a statement.

The search operation was later suspended and will resume today.
