After 11 hours of search-and-rescue (SAR) operations, the third victim of a landslide at her home in Kampung Marahang Tuntul, Gana, was finally found last night.
The 10-year-old girl, Kemiey Asphereynda Benny, was located at 8.45pm and extricated at 1.48am today. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry (KKM) medical personnel.
Earlier, her mother Wong Moi Ling, 34, and her six-year-old brother, Christen Kell Benny, who were also buried in the landslide, were found earlier at 4.20pm and 4.25pm respectively.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Mohd Pisar Aziz said his department received the emergency call at 9.20am before dispatching a team to the location.
“Upon arrival, it was found that a landslide had struck a house with three victims reported trapped. The first victim was found at 4.20pm, the second five minutes later, and the third at 8.45pm before being successfully removed at 1.48am,” he said in a media statement today.

“All victims were confirmed dead by KKM personnel and subsequently handed over to the police for further action. The operation was fully concluded at 2.05am,” he said.
