The father of eight-year-old Nur Aini Umairah has expressed forgiveness towards the van driver involved in the fatal accident that claimed his daughter’s life outside her school gate, saying he has accepted the tragedy as fate.
The victim’s father, Ahmad Fareez Khalid, 39, said he has come to terms with the loss of his Year Two daughter, who was killed while waiting to be picked up outside the main gate of Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Maimon.
Speaking when collecting his daughter’s remains at the forensic department of Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail, he said there was no point in blaming anyone over the incident. He stressed that the tragedy should be viewed as part of life’s divine plan.
He also urged the public not to direct anger towards the van driver, saying he had already forgiven the man involved. According to him, the incident was unintentional and beyond anyone’s control, and compassion should be extended to all parties affected.
Ahmad Fareez added that his daughter was a cheerful and lively child who loved dressing up and imitating makeup tutorials she watched online. He shared that she had even applied makeup on him during a family outing to Melaka recently, a memory he now holds close.
The grieving father said he is trying to remain strong for his family, adding that although the loss is painful, they are letting her go peacefully and praying for her to be granted mercy.
