Heavy Rain, Strong Winds Expected Across Multiple States, MetMalaysia Warns

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting Putrajaya and eight states until 7pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the affected areas include Perak, covering Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim, as well as Terengganu involving Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman.

Similar weather conditions are also expected in Pahang, covering Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Maran and Kuantan, and Selangor, including Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are Jelebu and Seremban, while in Johor, Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Kluang are on alert.

The warning also extends to Sarawak, covering Sibu (Selangau), Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong) and Bintulu (Tatau), as well as Sabah, involving the Interior Division (Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan), West Coast and Tawau (Lahad Datu).
