Police Probe After Body Discovered In Parked Proton Wira In Tawar

Fire and Rescue Department personnel were called in to force open a Proton Wira to retrieve a body found locked inside the vehicle at Jalan Jerat Cina, Tawar, here today.

It is understood that the body was discovered in the front passenger seat of the car.

Baling Fire and Rescue Station chief Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil said the department received an emergency assistance call regarding the incident at 12.15pm.

He said a team of seven firefighters, led by Senior Fire Officer II Zulhelmi Bahari, was deployed to the scene shortly after.

Upon arrival, rescuers confirmed a body was inside the vehicle and used special equipment to force open the car door.

The operation took about 10 minutes, during which a car window was broken before the body was confirmed inside the vehicle.

Based on public information, the car had reportedly been parked at the location since Thursday.

The body was handed over to police for further action.

Zulkhairi said the identity of the deceased has not yet been determined, but a strong foul odour was detected near the vehicle.

The operation concluded at about 2.25pm after the case was handed over to police.
