A bizarre viral moment has emerged from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner after a Hollywood agent was seen calmly continuing his meal while chaos unfolded following reports of gunfire at the event.
The incident took place at the Washington Hilton Hotel, where hundreds of journalists and media figures had gathered for the annual gala when security was suddenly breached outside the ballroom.
Guests were reportedly eating their first course when panic erupted, with US President Donald Trump being swiftly escorted out by Secret Service agents as alarms spread through the venue.
Amid the confusion, a video that has since gone viral shows talent agent Michael Glantz calmly continuing to eat his dinner, seemingly unfazed while other attendees took cover under tables.
Witnesses described scenes of panic as diners ducked for safety, while others filmed the unfolding situation on their phones during what was believed to be a possible assassination attempt involving an armed intruder.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as Cole Tomas Allen, allegedly forced his way past security before being arrested and charged with firearms and assault-related offences following the incident.
The White House Correspondents’ Association later confirmed that the event would resume shortly after the situation was brought under control, although many guests had already begun leaving the venue.
President Trump later described the episode as “shocking,” recalling that he initially mistook the sound for an accident before realising it could be gunfire, while noting that the First Lady raised the alarm first.
Despite the disruption, officials confirmed that the situation was contained quickly, with armed agents securing the suspect outside the hotel as investigations continue into the incident.
