The much-anticipated Kuching Street Parade 2025 is set to light up the city once again with the exciting theme “Parade of Lights,” celebrating Kuching City Day in spectacular fashion. To ensure a smooth and memorable event, several road closures and partial restrictions will be in place leading up to and following the parade.
From August 6, key roads including Jalan McDougall and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg will experience partial closures for essential activities such as site preparation, rehearsals, and post-event cleanup. The schedule is as follows:
- August 6–11: Site preparation
- August 12–15: Parade rehearsals
- August 16: The grand parade event
- August 17–19: Cleanup operations
Additionally, the stretch from St. Thomas to Padang Merdeka will be closed on the event day to accommodate the festivities.
Organizers urge residents and visitors to plan their routes ahead of time and avoid the affected areas to reduce traffic congestion and ensure safety for all.
