Lucky Escape As Trailer Plummets Into Ravine Along Gua Musang Road

Date:

A lorry driver narrowly escaped injury after his trailer suddenly moved forward, crashed into a road barrier and plunged into a ravine along Kilometer 90 of the Gua Musang–Lojing Road.

The incident occurred at about 7.30am yesterday after the 30-year-old driver had stopped his vehicle due to suspected brake problems.

Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said authorities received a report on the incident around 10am, with initial findings showing the trailer was travelling from Port Klang, Selangor to Lojing.

He said the driver had pulled over to the left shoulder of the road after noticing brake issues and stepped out to inspect the vehicle.

While he was checking, the trailer suddenly rolled forward before plunging into a ditch on the left side of the road.

Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
