Major Crash in New Taipei: 1 Killed, 13 Hurt in Gravel Truck-Bus Collision

A major traffic accident occurred this morning (July 23) in New Taipei City’s Wanli District. On Zhongfu Road, a gravel truck collided with a Kuokuang motorcoach, resulting in one fatality and 13 others injured to varying degrees, including the truck driver. Emergency personnel are currently on-site conducting rescue operations.

The crash caused severe disruptions to traffic in both directions. Authorities have temporarily closed the affected lanes. Wanli police are now directing traffic heading toward Keelung, while Keelung City Police Department’s Fourth Precinct is assisting with traffic control for vehicles heading toward Wanli. Drivers are being redirected to Provincial Highway 2 as an alternate route.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident while continuing efforts to aid the injured and restore traffic flow.
