A local man has been arrested after a viral video showed him wearing unauthorised Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) gear while allegedly stopping a motorcyclist.

Subang Jaya Deputy District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Fairus Jaafar, said authorities were alerted to the circulating clip on 22 April. The footage is believed to have been recorded on 17 April and later uploaded on TikTok, quickly gaining traction online.

Authorities are probing the case under Section 89 of the Police Act 1967, Section 504 of the Penal Code, Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

Police have urged the public to refrain from speculating on the incident, adding that any information can be channelled to the Subang Jaya District Police Headquarters at 03-7862 7222 to aid investigations.
