Man Assaulted For 3 Minutes In Kepong Restaurant After Alleged Stare Incident

Date:

A man was allegedly assaulted after a brief exchange of stares with a group of individuals while dining at a restaurant in Kepong, in an incident that took place last Thursday.

Basri Sagoni said the case is still under investigation, with police continuing to gather evidence and conduct further inquiries.

He said the altercation reportedly stemmed from the victim looking in the direction of the suspect while eating at the restaurant.

“The suspect, who was believed to be intoxicated at the time, was unhappy after being looked at and proceeded to attack the victim,” he said in a statement on Monday.

Police confirmed that the suspect has since been arrested and remanded until Thursday to assist investigations.

The incident gained public attention after CCTV footage of the assault went viral on social media, showing three individuals attacking a man inside the restaurant, leaving him injured.
