A mother was left in shock after discovering her 22-year-old son dead inside his bedroom at a home in Phimai District.
Police said the incident was reported on April 22, prompting officers from Phimai Police Station, along with investigators and rescue personnel, to rush to the scene.
Upon entering the room, authorities found the victim lying face up, shirtless and dressed in black shorts, on top of a pile of liquor bottles. Initial assessments indicated that he had been dead for at least five hours, with no visible signs of physical assault.
Numerous empty liquor bottles were discovered scattered across the bedroom, suggesting heavy alcohol consumption prior to his death.
According to police, the victim’s mother had gone to check on him after receiving no response when knocking on the door. She later opened the room and made the grim discovery before contacting authorities. The shock reportedly caused her to lose consciousness.
Further investigation revealed that the deceased lived alone and had a history of epilepsy. Police believe a combination of excessive alcohol intake and extreme heat may have contributed to him collapsing.
The body has been sent to hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
