Not a Shooting! Chaos Erupts at Klang Petrol Station as Robbery Suspect Rams Police Officer and Escapes!

Date:

Police have confirmed that the recent incident at a petrol station in Klang was not a shooting case, contrary to viral claims and circulating videos on social media.

Klang Selatan District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ramli Kasa, clarified that the incident actually involved a robbery suspect who rammed into a police officer with his car while attempting to escape arrest at a petrol station along Persiaran Raja Muda Musa yesterday.

At around 2.30pm, police spotted a white Toyota Vios believed to be linked to a robbery case in Subang Jaya. When officers tried to detain the suspect, he became aggressive, pushed one of the policemen, and sped off — hitting the officer and nearly running over his foot. The suspect also crashed into a police vehicle before fleeing against traffic towards Shah Alam, abandoning his car later at Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim.

Police managed to arrest the 33-year-old local man in Bandar Bukit Tinggi around 12.45am. Checks revealed he has 20 prior criminal records and five drug-related offences.

The injured officer is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang. The police vehicle involved also sustained damage.

Ramli said investigations are ongoing under Sections 186 and 307 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public officer and attempted murder.

He further clarified that the object seen in the viral video was not a bullet or gun, but rather a fragment of the officer’s keychain.
