A family of five, including a 79-year-old grandmother and her two grandchildren, narrowly escaped injury when a car driven by a suspected human trafficking agent crashed into their home in Kampung Tok Malik near Wakaf Bharu at about 7am.
House owner Aminah Seman said she was reciting the Quran in her bedroom when she suddenly heard a loud bang coming from outside the house.
She said she and her daughter looked out of the window and saw several men chasing another individual before she quickly woke her grandchildren and rushed outside to check on the situation.
At the time of the incident, her two grandchildren, aged 22 and 25, were asleep in the living room, while her daughter and son-in-law were resting in another room.
The impact of the crash caused damage to a parked vehicle and left cracks on the side structure of the house.
Aminah expressed gratitude that all family members escaped unharmed, saying the outcome could have been far worse had she been outside as part of her usual morning routine.
She later confirmed seeing police detaining the suspect believed to be involved in the incident.
Her son, Che Abdul Muiz Ibrahim, said he rushed back home after being informed of the crash and was relieved that his family members were safe despite the frightening ordeal.
