A female secondary school student was injured after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the road with two classmates in Kajang on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at about 4.40pm along Jalan Cheras in front of KPMC. The accident was captured on a vehicle’s dashcam and the video later circulated on social media, drawing widespread public attention.
The victim, who was wearing her school uniform, was crossing the road together with one male and one female classmate when she was hit by the motorcycle.
Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nazron said the motorcyclist involved was a 33-year-old local man who works for a private company.
Based on the dashcam footage, the student was flung into the air after being struck before landing on the road.
Nazron said the student sustained minor injuries to her right arm and right leg, while the motorcyclist was not injured.
Police are investigating the case under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
