Six Men Arrested After Helmet-Wielding Brawl Outside Jelutong Restaurant

Police have arrested six men in connection with a brawl that erupted outside a restaurant along Jalan Lenggong in Jelutong, Penang.

Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said officers were alerted to the incident at about 7.45pm yesterday after receiving information from a member of the public.

Following investigations, police detained six men aged between 25 and 28. The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with objects that could be used as weapons.

Abdul Rozak said initial findings indicate the fight was triggered by a dispute over a car sale transaction involving two parties.

Four of the suspects have been remanded until Thursday, while the remaining two are being held until the end of today to assist with investigations.

A two-minute video of the incident, which has since circulated on social media, shows several men brawling by the roadside and striking one another with motorcycle helmets. One individual was also seen climbing onto a silver car and repeatedly stomping on the vehicle.
