A Form Six student’s journey home ended in tragedy when she was killed in a three-vehicle crash along Jalan Kampung Tengah in Sabak Bernam yesterday evening.
The 19-year-old victim, a student of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Form Six College, was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the 6pm incident.
Sabak Bernam district police chief Superintendent Md Yusof Ahmad said the crash involved a Honda RS150 motorcycle, a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle and a Ford Econovan van.
He said the incident occurred when the Honda RS150 collided with the rear of the Yamaha 135LC, which was slowing down to turn into a junction on the left side of the road.
“The impact caused the rider to lose control before veering into the opposite lane and crashing into the Ford Econovan,” he said when contacted.
Md Yusof added that the victim suffered severe head injuries after falling from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and witnesses have been urged to assist investigations by contacting the investigating officer, Inspector Mohd Shaifuddin Mohd Nor at 017-6645812.
