The victim in the brutal murder case of 19-year-old Nurfisya Zulkifly in Ketereh is believed to have known one of the male suspects, also aged 19, for about a year prior to the incident.
This was revealed by a close friend of the victim, who requested to be identified only as Nurul, 19, saying that Nurfisya had previously mentioned her acquaintance with the suspect during their conversations.
“I heard from Nurfisya before that she had known the boy for around a year, but I’m not sure about the exact nature of their relationship,” she said when met on Sunday.
Nurul described the victim as a cheerful and friendly person who never showed signs of being in distress or facing serious personal issues during their time together.
She added that just a day before the tragedy, they had gone out for breakfast with other friends at a shopping mall in Lembah Sireh, and nothing appeared unusual at the time.
“She was the same as always—happy and cheerful. We talked normally before heading back to our rented accommodation,” she said.
Nurul said the shocking news of Nurfisya’s death had left her and their friends devastated, as the victim was well-liked and easy to get along with.
In the meantime, the management of KPTM has reportedly advised students to take extra safety precautions, particularly those staying off-campus.
Students have also been reminded not to travel alone and to move in groups where possible to reduce personal safety risks.
Earlier reports stated that Nurfisya’s body was found by the public in a paddy field area, bearing 61 stab wounds. Police have since detained four suspects, including two 19-year-old males and a married elderly couple, to assist in investigations. Remand orders ranging from three to seven days
