Server Room At Gombak IPD Damaged In Fire Incident

A server room belonging to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) of the Gombak District Police Headquarters (IPD) was reported to have been about 50 per cent destroyed in a fire incident yesterday.

However, no fatalities or injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed that there were no signs of sabotage at the scene.

Gombak District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ibrahim Husin, said the District Control Centre (DCC) received information on the incident at 4.04pm.

He said the Gombak IPD Control Centre immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Department for further action.

Firefighters from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Department managed to extinguish the blaze, which was brought under control at around 4.50pm.

A post-incident inspection found that only the traffic unit’s server room was affected by the fire.

Preliminary findings from the Fire and Rescue Department indicated that the blaze resulted in about 50 per cent damage to the server room.

Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties and no criminal elements involved, with the fire fully extinguished after emergency response efforts.
