A 15-year-old girl who was assaulted, raped and robbed in Palekbang, Tumpat last Wednesday morning is still undergoing treatment at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HRPZ II), where she is also receiving psychological care.
Kelantan Health Department director Datuk Mohd Azman Yacob said the victim is being managed by a specialist team under the hospital’s Integrated Crisis Centre (OSCC), which handles sensitive trauma-related cases.
He said the teenager is currently in stable condition, but continues to experience psychological trauma following the incident, and is receiving ongoing counselling and mental health support.
“The victim is in a stable condition, however she is still traumatised and psychological treatment is being provided,” he said when contacted on Friday.
According to earlier reports, the victim was attacked while she was out for recreational activity in the morning. She was allegedly struck with a wooden object by an unidentified man before being raped and robbed.
She was later found in a semi-conscious state with injuries to her face, head and body in a bushy area near an irrigation canal in Kampung Mesira, Palekbang.
Tumpat district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Khairi Shafie said police are still tracking down the suspect and the case is being investigated under Section 376 and Section 394 of the Penal Code.
