A fight between two male drivers at the entrance lane of the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) went viral on social media yesterday, believed to have been sparked by a Toyota Vellfire entering the bus lane at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex.
Johor Bahru South District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat, said the scuffle occurred at about 3 p.m. and involved a 28-year-old e-hailing driver and a 43-year-old bus driver.
“The fight broke out after an argument when the Toyota Vellfire driven by the e-hailing driver allegedly entered the bus lane. It is believed that provocation between the two led the bus driver to stop his vehicle and confront the e-hailing driver,” he said in a statement today.
A physical struggle ensued, resulting in both local men sustaining minor injuries to their heads, necks and hands. They later went to the police station to lodge reports about the incident.
Raub added that the case is being investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code for causing public affray.
Earlier, a 14-second video clip showing the two men grappling in the middle of the road while vehicles were stopped, believed to be at the Johor Causeway, went viral before another man intervened to break up the fight.
