Police arrested a 37-year-old woman in Kuching for driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic operation conducted from Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said a breathalyser test confirmed that the woman had alcohol in her system.
“The test showed 186 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood,” he said in a statement.
The suspect was taken to the Kuching District Police Headquarters for further investigation.
She is being investigated under Section 45A(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for drink driving.
ACP Alexson reminded road users to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol as it poses serious risks to themselves and other motorists.
He added that the operation, which ran from 11.30pm to 3.30am, resulted in 33 summonses issued for various traffic offences.
