A lawyer in Thailand has revealed an unusual adultery case involving a woman who filed for divorce and is also suing her husband’s alleged mistress after discovering the infidelity in an unexpected way — by noticing a change in the smell of her husband’s underwear.
According to reports by Daily News, lawyer Hong Hataya Annteng said she received the case through a private investigation firm that specialises in adultery-related lawsuits and evidence gathering.
The case later drew attention after details were shared by Bigboss PI, a private investigation team that was hired to assist the woman in collecting proof of the alleged affair.
The woman reportedly explained that she became suspicious after noticing that her husband’s scent had changed, saying she was very familiar with his personal smell after years of marriage. She later claimed that even the scent of his underwear no longer matched what she recognised.
Investigators said the claim was unusual, as the initial suspicion was based solely on smell. To assess the situation, the team reportedly asked the client to provide both old and new clothing items, including underwear, for comparison.
However, the investigators concluded that scent alone would not be sufficient evidence for legal proceedings, prompting them to carry out a wider surveillance operation to gather more concrete proof.
The team later conducted undercover monitoring in areas where the husband was believed to frequent, disguising themselves as street vendors and other workers to avoid detection.
According to the investigators, they later obtained additional supporting evidence, including witness accounts and visual materials such as photographs and videos, which they said would be used in court proceedings.
