Man Cancels International Flight Over Illness, Found Dead At Kobe Airport Hours Later

A man in his 30s has died after being found unconscious in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at Kobe Airport in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, on Friday afternoon.

According to Kobe Shimbun, the man was scheduled to take an international flight that day but reportedly informed the airline shortly after 9am that he was feeling unwell and decided not to board.

He was initially still using his mobile phone, but airline staff later noticed that he had remained seated and motionless for an extended period.

Shortly before 1pm, staff approached the man to check on him and discovered that he had stopped breathing.

He was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The man is believed to be a foreign national. Police are investigating to establish his identity and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
