Man Killed After Car Smashes Into Chinese Takeaway, Four Children Injured

A man has died and six others, including four children, were injured after a car crashed into a Chinese takeaway in Tipton, West Midlands.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Princes End High Street at approximately 10.20pm following reports that a silver Honda Civic had collided with a building.

The driver was found in a critical condition when paramedics arrived. Despite receiving advanced life support treatment at the scene, he was later pronounced dead.

Five passengers travelling in the vehicle, including a woman and four children, were taken to hospital for treatment.

According to the West Midlands Ambulance Service, the woman suffered serious injuries and received specialist trauma care before being transported to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

Two girls also sustained potentially serious injuries and were taken under emergency conditions to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, two boys who were in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

A cyclist believed to have been passing the area at the time of the collision was also injured. However, his injuries were described as minor and he was discharged at the scene into the care of family members.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. The cause of the collision has not yet been established.

The incident caused significant disruption in the area as emergency crews worked through the night to secure the scene and assist those involved.

Authorities are expected to appeal for witnesses and any available dashcam footage as part of their ongoing investigation into the fatal crash.
