A man in Indonesia has gone viral after choosing an unusual location to propose to his girlfriend — right in the middle of a traffic stop at a red-light intersection.

A video of the romantic moment, shared on TikTok by user @vinadanjawir, shows the couple waiting on a motorcycle for the traffic light to turn green.

In the clip, the man suddenly gets off the motorcycle and unveils a handwritten sign that reads: “Hi Vina! Will you marry me?” before dropping to one knee in front of his surprised girlfriend.

The heartfelt gesture quickly turned into a memorable moment when Vina accepted the proposal, drawing cheers and admiration from many online viewers.

Public proposals have become increasingly popular on social media, with many couples seeking creative ways to mark life-changing milestones and share them with a wider audience.

The video has since amassed more than 4.6 million views on TikTok, sparking a lively debate among netizens. While some praised the romantic effort, others questioned the choice of location.

“Don’t disturb public order!” one user commented, while another wrote: “As if there was no other place to do it.”
