Thousands of milk cartons were left strewn along the roadside after a trailer transporting supplies to a popular coffee chain was involved in an accident at Kilometre 25 of Jalan Bahau-Keratong on Friday morning.
The incident, which occurred at about 8am, caused traffic disruptions as approximately 1,800 cartons of milk spilled onto the road following the crash.
Jempol District Police Chief Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar said the Scania trailer, driven by a man in his 30s, was travelling from Pahang to Shah Alam when the accident took place.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the trailer was heading from the Muadzam direction when a lorry, whose registration number has yet to be identified, allegedly encroached into the opposite lane.
In an attempt to avoid a collision, the trailer driver reportedly swerved to the left. However, the vehicle lost control after moving onto the road shoulder before veering off the roadway.
The trailer eventually skidded to the left side of the road, causing its cargo to spill across the area. Road accidents involving heavy vehicles continue to pose significant risks to motorists, particularly on routes frequently used for logistics and goods transportation.
Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident, including efforts to identify the lorry believed to have contributed to the crash.
