Three-Year-Old Boy Found Alive After Six Days Under Earthquake Rubble

Date:

A three-year-old boy has been found alive after surviving six days trapped beneath rubble following a devastating earthquake in Venezuela, in what rescuers have described as a rare moment of hope amid a deepening humanitarian crisis.

The child, identified as Klieber Moran, was discovered by a Jordanian rescue team in the state of La Guaira, one of the worst-hit areas after the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes struck the South American nation last week.

Footage circulating on social media showed rescue workers cheering as the boy was carefully pulled from the debris of a collapsed building and carried to safety.

Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez described the rescue as a powerful moment of relief for a nation still grappling with the aftermath of the disaster.

According to Jordan’s Civil Defence Department, the child received emergency treatment at the scene before being transferred to hospital, where his condition was reported to be stable with vital signs intact.

Parliament President Jorge Rodriguez said the boy is now receiving further treatment in the capital, Caracas.

Officials said the rescue was especially remarkable as it came well beyond the critical 72-hour window, when chances of finding survivors are usually highest.

The earthquake has so far claimed 1,943 lives, with more than 10,000 people injured and many others still unaccounted for.

International agencies including the UNHCR have warned of worsening shortages of food and essential services, while healthcare systems remain under severe strain.

Rescue operations involving local and international teams continue as hopes remain that more survivors may still be found beneath the wreckage.
