13-Year-Old Injured After Fight Between Schoolmates At Mosque Football Field

Date:

A 13-year-old boy was injured following a fight with another student at a football field near Masjid Ubudiah in Section 19, Shah Alam, last Friday.

The incident, which occurred at about 1pm, involved two secondary school students aged 13 and 14.

Shah Alam District Police Chief ACP Sarudin Samah said police received a report lodged by the father of one of the students involved in the altercation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that both teenagers knew each other and attended the same school. The confrontation reportedly involved only the two students and was witnessed by several other schoolmates.

“The 13-year-old victim received treatment at Shah Alam Hospital and was diagnosed with soft tissue injuries,” Sarudin said in a statement on Monday.

Police have launched an investigation under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.

Authorities are in the process of recording statements from witnesses who were present during the incident to assist in the investigation.

Members of the public with information regarding the case are urged to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Mohammad Amirul Zulkifli at 012-5583436 or reach out to their nearest police station.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over student disputes escalating into physical confrontations outside school premises.
