40-Year-Old Man Stabbed To Death Over RM15 Debt

Date:

A shocking murder over a tiny debt has stunned Thailand’s Khon Kaen province. A 40-year-old man, Sirasa, was stabbed to death by a 27-year-old creditor, Jidisa, and his 23-year-old girlfriend, Wilaiporn, after refusing to repay money he owed. Police later learned the dispute was over just 120 baht — roughly RM15.

According to Thai media Khaosod, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on 24 September inside a small wooden house with no address in Khon Kaen. When police arrived, they found Sirasa lying dead on the floor with a stab wound to the right side of his chest and blood pooling around him. Jidisa and Wilaiporn were standing nearby and were immediately detained for questioning.

The couple told police the wooden house belonged to Jidisa’s relative, who allowed them and Sirasa to stay there temporarily. Relations were initially cordial, but Sirasa had recently moved out to live with his girlfriend. On the night of the killing, he returned to collect his belongings. When Jidisa demanded repayment of the debt, Sirasa refused, sparking a violent confrontation.

Wilaiporn said that during the fight Sirasa wrestled away a baseball bat and began hitting Jidisa. Fearing for her boyfriend’s life, she grabbed a knife and stabbed Sirasa, then threw the knife into a nearby river. Villagers tried to summon an ambulance, but Sirasa succumbed to his injuries before paramedics arrived.

Police confirmed the amount owed was only 120 baht (about RM15), money Jidisa had earlier paid on Sirasa’s behalf for goods he had bought on credit at a local shop. The case remains under investigation.
