A total of 64 vehicles of various types were inspected during Ops Gempur Kenderaan Perdagangan/Barangan conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarikei Branch on Thursday.

JPJ Sarawak said the operation involved enforcement patrols along the Pan Borneo Highway route covering the Sarikei-Julau-Bintangor stretch.

The inspection uncovered several offences, including vehicles carrying loads exceeding the permitted length limit, violations of Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) permit conditions, failure to obey traffic signals and other technical vehicle-related breaches.

JPJ Sarawak said enforcement action was taken against all detected offences in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

The department added that it will continue intensifying enforcement operations targeting commercial and goods vehicles to ensure operators comply with the required safety and regulatory standards.

JPJ Sarawak stressed that compliance with road regulations is important not only to ensure smoother transportation operations but also to protect the safety of all road users.
